BetterCloud Unveils Activity-Based Alerts to Deliver Real-Time SaaS Security for Google Cloud
Building on BetterCloud's partnership with Google Cloud, the new solution enables enterprises to monitor user activity in real-time to rapidly identify and remediate security risks within G Suite
SAN FRANCISCO, July 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- BetterCloud, the leading SaaS Operations Management platform, today announced the launch of Activity-Based Alerts for Google Cloud, a real-time monitoring and reporting solution to further bolster SaaS security for enterprises running their businesses on G Suite applications. Expanding on BetterCloud's partnership with Google Cloud, the new solution enables organizations to continuously monitor event-related activity for malicious or unauthorized behavior, and automates security responses to rapidly mitigate security risks. Activity-Based Alerts is now available for Google Cloud, Okta, Dropbox and the many other SaaS applications BetterCloud supports.
"The explosion of SaaS has left organizations with far too many applications to manage and a deluge of data to reign in," said David Politis, CEO and Founder of BetterCloud. "Every second of every minute, people are taking actions within SaaS applications such as downloading files, forwarding emails, installing external applications and more. Identifying and assessing anomalous behavior in these circumstances can be highly challenging — and lacking the ability to respond quickly can result in data slipping through the cracks. We heard this first-hand from customers and are now doubling down and expanding support to G Suite to ensure organizations have a way to eradicate security threats and protect business data in real-time."
As the number one requested feature at Altitude, BetterCloud's annual customer conference, Activity-Based Alerts for Google Cloud was developed to empower enterprises with the ability to analyze event-related user activity within today's most popular workplace SaaS application: G Suite. With the new solution, IT can set security policies and alerts to protect their business data from user activities such as:
- Unauthorized File Downloads
BetterCloud closely monitors all critical file activity in Google Drive — views and downloads — to ensure sensitive company data remains in the proper hands. When an unauthorized user — internal or external — views or downloads a file, IT is immediately alerted for quick remediation. IT and security teams can set up policies that revoke sharing settings on the document as required. Parameters for monitoring and alerting are highly customizable and can be set based on everything from level of data sensitivity to the individuals and groups that own the data. - Suspicious User Access
BetterCloud monitors users' login and access behavior in G suite, such as a sign-in from an unusual location, and can automatically remediate potential security threats associated with these accounts. If privileged users, such as IT administrators or C-level employees, attempt a suspicious login, BetterCloud can automatically clear any active sessions across applications and devices, prompting the user to log back into SSO and ensuring the user has not been hacked.
Built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BetterCloud launched its SaaS operations management platform in 2011 for organizations using G Suite. Since the company's founding and induction as a premier SaaS ISV Technology Partner of Google Cloud, BetterCloud has helped thousands of organizations automate millions of complex workflows, enforce security policies, alert team members to key incidents and issues and more — all within the G Suite environment. The launch of Activity-Based Alerts for Google is the culmination of the companies' partnership and work across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and G Suite — 'built on Google for Google'. Running on GCP gives BetterCloud the performance, scale and security necessary to provide the best possible customer experience for the 4 million companies using G suite today.
BetterCloud is a velocity sponsor of Google Next 2018 and will be showcasing Activity-Based Alerts for Google at booth #S1329.
