Better Homes and Gardens Network's Recipe.com Invites Cooks to Enter Recipe Contests

DES MOINES, Iowa, May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Better Homes and Gardens Network's Recipe.com features recipe contests with opportunities to win prizes by entering favorite recipes in all kinds of categories – from easy vegetarian recipes to make ahead recipes to easy chicken recipes. Some of the more popular recipe contests offer first place prizes up to $15,000, and most prizes have a minimum value of $50 in gifts or certificates to a popular store.

"Recipe.com visitors love the contests we feature and as a result they come back time and time again to enter their recipes. Some of the contests are one-time opportunities, but many of them are ongoing contests that can be entered multiple times," said Doug Crichton, Recipe.com Editor. "We've focused on partnering with the top food companies, stores and magazines to offer all kinds of prizes, including some exciting cash prizes."

From the long list of Recipe.com current contests, one of the most exciting is the Beringer Great Steak Challenge with a grand prize of $15,000. Cooks enter their favorite steak recipe and suggest a Beringer wine pairing. The deadline is May 31. Another substantial prize is being offered in the Foster Farms 2010 Fresh Chicken Cooking Contest, where cooks can enter their favorite easy chicken recipe. The prize for this recipe contest is $10,000 and the deadline is June 30.

Two other current contests on Recipe.com are recipes that all cooks have in their repertoire: make ahead recipes for casseroles, desserts or entire meals and slow cooker recipes in a contest called "Country Woman: Oh Slow Good." Both of these contests end on June 1 and offer multiple prizes with the top prize being $500.

In the Recipe.com ongoing contests, cooks will find another long list of recipe contests they can enter multiple times. There is a monthly easy vegetarian recipes contest with the opportunity to win $50 to be spent at Ikea or Target. There is also the Cooking Light Recipe Contest that can be entered monthly with prizes of $50 cash, a Cooking Light t-shirt and, best of all, a chance to see the winning recipe in the monthly Reader Recipe column.
