Betsey Johnson Expands Collection Into Accessible Pink Label
NEW YORK, Feb. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- American designer and renowned fashion icon Betsey Johnson will debut an expanded offering of affordable designs to her already highly anticipated ready-to-wear Betsey Johnson collection on the catwalk this Fall 2011 New York City Fashion Week.
Under the "pink patch" label, Betsey will showcase whimsical patterns of roses, paper dolls, skulls, her ever famous hand-drawn caricatures and an explosive color palette draped over sportswear and dresses. Betsey Johnson's "pink patch" label epitomizes the 'Best-of-Betsey' and will go hand in hand with her mainstay Black Tag.
Taking on various shapes of sheaths, micro-mini skirts, tulle tutus and oversized tanks, this label will be available in slinky jersey, chiffon and denim, with hints of stretch corduroy and velvet to complement all silhouettes. In addition to this chic yet playfully affordable collection, eveningwear will be offered in duchess satin, charmeuse, taffeta and tulle.
Betsey Johnson states, "Making my collection more accessible to a broader range of my customers is my dream come true. With 'Pink Patch' I am thrilled to be making affordable clothes for myself, my friends, my family and my fans. With 'Black Tag' I get to take my designs to another level of creativity and quality."
Black Tag Betsey Johnson radiates even more elegance and identifies an elevated level of style through sophisticated design, offering fanciful suiting, elegant jackets and languid gowns in lush fabrics – all while staying true to our uniquely quirky aesthetic.
CEO, Susan Falk adds, "The first time I met Betsey she told me it was her dream to make part of her collection affordable for her 'girlfriends' everywhere. It's so wonderful that we are able to finally bring her dream to life. This is a great opportunity for the brand and I am beyond excited for what lies ahead."
