AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- NAVGTR CORP. — The National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers, a non-profit media organization, has announced nominations for its 16th annual awards program honoring video game art, technology, and production.
Bethesda Softworks received 19 nominations for Dishonored 2 (developed by Arkane Studios) and 13 nominations for DOOM (developed by id Software). Dishonored 2 leads the nomination totals over all other games this year.
The most nominated games in history (17 or more) are now Fallout 4, Dishonored 2, Heavy Rain, Metroid Prime, Batman: Arkham Asylum, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and The Last of Us.
Developer Thomas Mitton received three nominations and is waiting to be certified for the official record.
Developer Damien Pougheon received two nominations and is waiting to be certified for the official record.
As many as 235 individuals are in the process of being certified for nominations. Developers, publishers, marketers, publicists, and reps are encouraged to contact the academy for more information.
Nominees were determined by 1,195 press voters in 60 competitive categories. Voters nearly doubled in numbers from last year.
