HINGHAM, Mass., March 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Wellness Workdays, a leading provider of corporate wellness programs, announces that 14 organizations achieved 2019 Best Wellness Employer gold certification: A.I.M. Mutual Insurance Companies, Brown University, Bryant University, Cape Cod Healthcare, Focused Post Acute Care Partners, Maine Veterans' Homes, New Balance, Norway Savings Bank, the Orlando Utilities Commission, Putnam Investments, Systems Engineering, Titan America, Valir Health and Viessmann Manufacturing. The Best Wellness Employer program, developed by Wellness Workdays in collaboration with experts from Harvard Medical School, recognizes the significant achievements of employers dedicated to improving employee health and well-being.
"A robust wellness program can help employers build a strong organization with high employee engagement and become an employer of choice," said Debra Wein, founder and CEO of Wellness Workdays. "Not only can a commitment to well-being help organizations attract and retain talent, a well-branded initiative can raise the profile of an organization to its customers and clients."
Of the nearly 50 certifications awarded in 2019, which also include silver and bronze certifications, the 14 gold organizations met rigorous evaluation standards in the four key areas of assessment, strategy, implementation and evaluation. Six of these organizations earned gold certification for each of the past two years – A.I.M. Mutual Insurance Companies, Brown University, Bryant University, Focused Post Acute Care Partners, the Orlando Utilities Commission and Putnam Investments. Participants in this year's certification received a stipend for their contribution to worksite wellness research. As a result, almost $2,000 was donated to charities including The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Foundation, The American Cancer Society and Schools on Wheels MA. See the list of organizations that received 2019 Best Wellness Employer certifications.
Several of these Best Wellness Employers will be featured on a panel at Wellness Workdays' 6th Annual Emerging Trends in Wellness Conference on April 10-11 outside of Boston. Recipients will share insights on best practices and provide real life examples of how to overcome challenges when starting and growing an employee wellness program.
