Best-selling Author Will Be Keynote Speaker at Child Abuse Prevention Month Kickoff Breakfast April 3 in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Regina Brett, author of The New York Times best-seller God Never Blinks: 50 Lessons for Life's Little Detours, will be the keynote speaker at the "Protecting PA Kids, Preventing Abuse" annual breakfast on April 3 at the Harrisburg Hilton.

The event serves as the kickoff for the observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month in Pennsylvania.

Brett will share the lessons she learned as a child growing up in a family with 11 children, as a single parent, and as a cancer survivor.

Brett is a columnist for The Cleveland Plain Dealer and a two‐time finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in commentary. She hosts "The Regina Brett Show," a weekly live call-in radio show on NPR affiliate WKSU at Kent State University, and has been a guest on Oprah & Friends Radio.

Her newest book, Be the Miracle: 50 Lessons for Making the Impossible Possible, was released in January.

Brett holds a master's degree in religious studies from John Carroll University and a journalism degree from Kent State University.
