Best Practices for Successfully Deploying iPads to Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs)
CHAPEL HILL, N.C., June 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The iPad is quickly supplanting laptops as the principal tool for enhancing Medical Science Liaisons' (MSLs) interactions with thought leaders. Despite this, deploying iPads requires significant planning, resources, and training to make the investment a success.
According to recent research by benchmarking firm, Best Practices, LLC, proper planning and training for MSLs on iPad usage is essential for success. While the study found that 92% of MSLs used iPads to present data to Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), only 12% receive training on presentation skills. Reducing this gap should help to improve the effectiveness of MSL presentations.
The report, "The iPad: How MSLs Use It to Deliver Science and Data to HCPs," provides leaders with implementation plans, application strategy and evaluating measures that will equip executives to enhance MSL performance and successfully realize corporate investment in iPads. The report also identifies best practices and measures effectiveness for the successful deployment of iPads to MSLs.

- Syncing Tablets with CRM Systems
- Security & Compliance Concerns
- Measuring Effectiveness
- Challenges & Best Practices
This benchmarking research drew participation from 25 Medical Affairs leaders at 18 companies through a benchmarking survey instrument. All participants share leadership and oversight of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) groups at their companies.
