Currently, more than 40 teams have registered for the walk- but there's still room for more. The Foundation encourages all dog lovers to participate. To register, visit www.K9CancerWalk.org.
Walk-day registration is $35 for adults and $20 for children 10 years old and under and begins at 8:30 a.m. All canine cancer research supporters who are not able to attend the walk in Elk Grove are encouraged to participate in Sit & Stay for a Cure, which gives dog lovers a chance to virtually participate in the walk from the comfort of their couch—and help dogs enjoy longer, healthier lives.
This year's event includes 3K and 7K lake walk options. Participants can visit with more than 20 vendors, and after the walk, they can listen to experts discuss cancer prevention, wellness and cancer research and treatment and can learn how to advocate for their dog's health. All registered walkers will receive a 2010 K9 Cancer Walk T-shirt and a bandanna for their dog.
Eukanuba, 4GVerizon Wireless, Inc., Franklin Ranch Pet Hospital and Sacramento VCA Referral Center are this year's event sponsors.
An estimated 50 percent of all dogs will battle cancer. It is the No. 1 cause of death in dogs over the age of 2. Participating in this walk is a great way to memorialize a beloved dog lost to cancer or create a brighter future for a current canine companion. Help Morris Animal Foundation help your best friend live a longer healthier life.
