ATLANTA, March 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Animal welfare organization Best Friends Animal Society has partnered with fundraising platform Softgiving for a month-long online charity streaming event.
With a $250,000 donation goal, #MarchCatness kicked off March 1, 2020 and will continue throughout the month.
During this event, animal advocates across the nation will be peer-to-peer fundraising on live streaming platforms such as Twitch, Mixer, YouTube Live, and more, as well as popular social media channels.
"Best Friends is honored to be working with Softgiving on the March Catness campaign," said Caitlin Watkins, Digital Lead of P2P Fundraising at Best Friends. "To reach our goal of bringing the country to no-kill by 2025, we are building a virtual no-kill community by working with streamers to raise awareness and funds to ensure there are no more homeless pets."
To support Best Friends, Softgiving created a #MarchCatness landing page where the streaming community can donate to Best Friends, track the total amount raised, and view recent and top donors.
"We're thrilled to be partnering with Best Friends to activate their online community in March," said Matt Pfaltzgraf, Founder and CEO of Softgiving. "The streaming community has already proven just how much they love animals of all shapes and sizes. We're excited to utilize our innovative fundraising tools to support Best Friend's goal of no-kill by 2025."
To donate to #MarchCatness, benefitting Best Friends and their mission to Save Them All, individuals can go to MarchCatness.org and make a contribution or create a Softgiving campaign to join the event.
