The partnership is an important pillar in the business unit's strategy to focus on markets with the strongest need and growth potential.
"Healthcare reform incentivizes physicians to adopt medical technologies that network with electronic medical record systems, and there is a great unmet opportunity for IT expertise in the small and mid-size medical office," said Glen Swanson, vice president of the Business Customer Group at Best Buy. "Our relationship with Cardiac Science will enable us to more effectively serve tens of thousands of physicians who are seeking support for their IT needs."
The Best Buy For Business team will help physician offices choose computing and networking products which will allow utilization of Cardiac Science medical device purchases, including products such as CareCenter MD, a new PC-based diagnostic workstation for ECG and stress, and HeartCentrix, an EMR-device connectivity solution for Cardiac Science ECG, stress, and Holter products. Practices also may utilize Best Buy's Geek Squad team of trained IT experts to install and support these computer and networking products.
"Cardiac Science customers who want IT sales and service support can now turn to a Best Buy For Business team specifically trained in Cardiac Science products," said Dave Marver, Cardiac Science president and chief executive officer. "Physicians can concentrate on providing the best patient care, knowing they have the best technological and medical device support available to them."
