OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bersin by Deloitte today announced a call for speakers focused on an organization in the new world of work that is "different by design" to participate and present at IMPACT 2016, the industry's premier research-based executive conference for HR, talent and learning leaders and their teams. The ninth annual IMPACT conference takes place April 25-28 at The Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Florida.
Themed "Different by Design," IMPACT 2016 will focus on how human capital leaders can fulfill the vision of "Bold HR" discussed at this year's IMPACT event by redesigning the workplace to help create a more agile, flattened and collaborative environment to drive organizational performance in today's demanding globalized workplace.
HR, talent and learning executives who want to share their strategic insights and innovative solutions should submit a topic for a presentation, case study, panel, or interactive workshop. The deadline for submitting speaker proposals is Friday, Nov. 13, 2015.
"Employee engagement, retention and culture are the top challenges facing business leaders today, and these challenges demand new thinking and new approaches to the way organizations operate," said Josh Bersin, principal, Bersin by Deloitte, Deloitte Consulting LLP. "To meet these challenges – which many organizations find are tied directly to financial performance – will involve a renewed focus on putting people first. This will mean different things in different organizations. On the whole, organizations should renew their commitment to cultural values – the behaviors, values, artifacts, reward systems and rituals that make up an organization."
Such challenges can also provide a huge opportunity for HR professionals to show business leaders the demonstrated benefits of aligning their values and hiring to create the culture they want to build. Next steps include looking at the type of culture the organization has, identifying the type of culture desired, and planning a course of action to deliberately transition to the type of culture desired.
"Our research shows that designing, implementing and maintaining human capital development strategies that promote flexibility, innovation, transparency, educational opportunities and – most importantly – support their people correctly, drive better business performance," said David Mallon, head of research, Bersin by Deloitte, Deloitte Consulting LLP. "For HR professionals, that may mean taking risks and stepping forward to design and intentionally transition to a culture better suited to meeting an organizations' strategic and operational goals, as well as its overall business performance."
Through "Different by Design," IMPACT 2016 will focus on enabling HR, talent and learning executives to take a different approach to challenges, including:
- Leadership Development: Leadership remains a top challenge for many organizations, as the capability gap for building great leaders has widened in every region of the world, according to the "Deloitte Global Human Capital Trends 2015" report. At IMPACT 2016, analysts and other presenters will explore what it means to take a more adaptive, holistic look at factors in the organizational environment that contribute to growing great leaders for a more collaborative world of work.
- Talent Management and Inclusion: The rise of employee engagement, retention, and culture as organizational priorities is driving a change in the way HR and business leaders traditionally approach challenges. How can HR, talent and learning executives move beyond traditional approaches to talent issues and build the advanced, targeted and integrated talent capabilities they will need to drive business impact both today and in the future? What is the emerging role of inclusion and diversity in the organization of today?
- Continuous Learning: Bersin by Deloitte research suggests that the single biggest driver of business impact tends to be the strength of an organization's learning culture. However, many of today's workers are increasingly overwhelmed, distracted and impatient. They're also now empowered to direct more and more of their development, often using outside resources. Learning leaders at IMPACT 2016 will discuss ways to leverage new tools and emerging technologies, and embrace new ways of thinking and working to help design, build and sustain an effective learning culture.
- Analytics, Behavioral Economics, and Culture: Analytics, behavioral economics, and culture have become many of the most important elements of HR, leadership, and talent management this year. IMPACT will also focus on these new topics, bringing together new ideas about how HR and learning leaders can better motivate, attract, and understand what typically drives success in the redesigned organization of today.
