MILFORD, Conn., Feb. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Bernoulli, the leader in real-time solutions for patient safety, will brings its award-winning Bernoulli One™ connectivity platform to the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase (booth #9000) at the 2017 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, from Feb. 19–23.
As an Interoperability Showcase™ participant, Bernoulli will be demonstrating Use Cases in Surgery & Recovery and Childhood Asthma with its Bernoulli One™ platform, the market's only real-time, connected healthcare platform that combines comprehensive and vendor-neutral medical device integration with powerful middleware, clinical surveillance, telemedicine/virtual ICU, advanced alarm management, predictive analytics and robust distribution capabilities into a single solution that empowers clinicians with tools to drive better patient safety, clinical outcomes, patient experience, and provider workflow. Bernoulli also will be showing integration of patient data and waveforms into Epic.
"Bernoulli has long been committed to advancing industry-wide interoperability to support better patient safety, quality and reduced cost of care," said Janet Dillione, CEO of Bernoulli. "The HIMSS Interoperability Showcase is the ideal platform to demonstrate our solution's capabilities, as well as the decades of experience we can provide to stakeholders seeking to achieve true, patient-centered interoperability."
Participants demonstrate health IT solutions to decision makers at the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase—a 34,000-square-foot exhibition that displays, in real time, the exchange and use of data through interoperability profiles and standards with live products currently in the marketplace. The showcase has expanded to include all interoperability stakeholders and to demonstrate the entire health ecosystem, with no technical barriers to health IT solutions providers to participate.
Due to the shift from fee-for-service to value-based models that stimulate the demand for interoperability, the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase™ has been redesigned, to move from beyond focusing on the EHR as the sole data source for electronic health information, to a wide range of health information technologies used by individuals, providers and researchers. While previous showcases have focused on transactional interoperability, the redesigned showcase reflects interoperability's current state by placing individuals at the center of their care. The showcase will emphasize the importance of individuals being responsible for and connected directly to their health information, as well as the driving force that makes this connection possible: IT.
The updated showcase features a welcome area with interactive gateway stations; a more targeted approach to tours that utilizes personas; and enhanced education and networking events.
"The HIMSS Interoperability Showcase is a unique experience, where healthcare stakeholders come together to demonstrate the benefits of using standards-based interoperable health IT solutions for effective and secure health data information exchange," said Joyce Sensmeier, vice president, informatics, HIMSS North America. "The redesigned Interoperability Showcase provides attendees with the opportunity to explore an ecosystem where standards-based health IT enables individuals to securely access, contribute to and analyze their own health data – with a wide variety of scenarios and expressions of interoperability in different care settings."
HIMSS17 Interoperability Showcase hours are:
- Monday, Feb. 20, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, Feb. 21, 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
