Berlin's Storied Past And Modern Present Showcased On New Crystal Extended Land Program
Travelers to explore UNESCO sites, wander 'Unter den Linden' and through the Brandenburg Gate with two 2016 Northern Europe Voyages
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Travelers seeking authentic, in-depth insights into the striking beauty and culture of Northern Europe and the British Isles have one more reason to explore with Crystal Cruises in 2016. With two Crystal Symphony voyages exploring the Baltic region and North Sea, respectively, the world's most awarded luxury cruise line has unveiled a three-night inclusive Extended Land Program to Berlin. Offered post- and pre-cruise with the June 22 sailing from Stockholm to Berlin and the July 2 cruise from Hamburg to Amsterdam, the comprehensive program takes guests to some of history's most significant sites, while also showcasing the city's modern role as a metropolitan hub of culture, culinary delights and innovation.
From Berlin's most prestigious boulevard of today – "Unter den Linden" – to the Berlin Wall Documentation Center at Bernauer Strasse, guests will enjoy unique perspectives on the contrasting historical influences that color today's culture. Glimpses of the country's chapter of National Socialism and "Hitler's Berlin" will take travelers back decades to some of the darker, but pivotal points in Berlin's – and the world's – history, while performances by local swing dancers and independent exploration through the city streets' will highlight the vibrant attitude of today's Berlin.
"The history of Berlin is well known as some of the most fascinating in the world and is certainly a highlight of this program," says Edie Rodriguez, president and CEO. "However, modern Berlin is equally intriguing, with genuinely warm people and enriching culture at virtually every turn."
During the three-night excursion, guests will enjoy accommodations at the Regent Berlin, and dine at some of the city's most celebrated spots. The June 22 voyage overnights in Stockholm before departing for Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia (overnight); Gdansk, Poland; Copenhagen, Denmark (overnight); and Berlin. Beginning with the three-night program in Berlin, the July 2 cruise then sails from Hamburg to Kristiansand, Norway; Edinburgh/Queensferry Landing, Scotland (overnight); Newcastle upon Tyne, England; and concludes with an overnight in Amsterdam.
All-inclusive cruise fares for the voyages start at $6,325 and $3,965, respectively, when booked by December 30.
