Berkeley Varitronics Systems' Products Nominated for CTIA Wireless B!G Idea Contest
Wolfhound-LITE Contraband Cell Phone Detector Nominated along with the Company's YellowFin 4G LTE Analyzer
METUCHEN, N.J., Jan. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Berkeley Varitronics Systems, Inc. (BVS), a leading provider of advanced wireless solutions and security products to the domestic and international wireless telecommunications industry, announced that the company has had two products nominated for the prestigious CTIA Wireless B!G Idea Contest.
The Wolfhound-LITE was nominated in the 'Handheld Devices, Modules and Wearables' category. The Wolfhound-LITE, released in June of last year, is the second in a line of BVS' advanced cell phone detection products and can be concealed in any pocket or worn on a belt clip like a wireless pager. The award winning product is already in use in dozens of correctional facilities both in the US and abroad.
Nominated in the 'Operator/Carrier Services & Network Infrastructure' category is BVS' latest product, the YellowFin 4G LTE Analyzer. It is the world's first truly portable calibrated, demodulating LTE test receiver that utilizes a tablet PC as an interface in conjunction with BVS's precision receiver technology for complete spectrum analysis as well as LTE physical layer demodulation. The optional DF (Direction Finding) Antenna allows engineers to pinpoint sources of LTE interference, rogue base stations and even nearby hackers.
Online voting between now and February 10 will determine five finalists, and CTIA will name three winners on March 22 who will present live at the International CTIA Wireless 2011 Convention.
Wireless and telecom industry professionals may review and vote for The B!G Idea Contest submissions at this site: http://www.ctiashow.com/bigidea.
