Berkeley Varitronics Systems Contraband Cell Phone Detectors Win Prestigious Security Products' Government Security Awards
Wolfhound-PRO and Watchhound win in wireless security categories
METUCHEN, N.J., March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Berkeley Varitronics Systems, Inc. (BVS), a leading provider of advanced wireless solutions and security products to the domestic and international wireless telecommunications industry, has won additional awards for their Wolfhound family of security products.
On March 22nd, Security Products magazine announced that the Wolfhound-PRO™ won in the Cell Phone Monitor Category and the Watchhound™ won in the Cell Phone Detector Access Control Category.
"These awards are especially gratifying as they recognize the importance of providing an efficient, cost effective solution for the rapidly growing problem of contraband cell phones being used in restricted areas such as federal and correctional facilities," said Scott Schober, President & CEO of BVS.
The Wolfhound-PRO high speed scanning receiver utilizes a multi-band DF (Direction Finding) antenna system allowing security personnel to locate nearby cell phones in either standby mode or during active voice, text or data transmissions.
The Watchhound Cell Phone Security Monitor continuously scans any cell phone prohibited area essentially creating wireless-free zones without the need for jamming. All incoming and outgoing cellular calls are detected and time stamped for analysis. The receiver can be configured to look like a common thermostat for more covert enforcement and features an OLED display, remote control and utilizes Power (PoE) over Ethernet.
Both products will be displayed in the Security Products booth #1814 and BVS booth #701 at the annual GovSec Conference & Expo that will be held March 29-31 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
