Beringer Vineyards Partners With the Deen Brothers for Second Annual Million Meals Charity Campaign
One Dollar from Each Purchase of Beringer Founders' Estate Wine to Support Hunger Charities Nationwide
NAPA, Calif., Nov. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Beringer Vineyards, one of the most historic wineries in America, today kicked off the holiday season with its second annual Million Meals charity campaign, which supports hunger charities nationwide by donating one dollar for every purchase of Beringer Founders' Estate wine during the months of November and December. Beringer has doubled its investment in the program this year, with the goal of providing two million meals to families in need.
Food Network Stars Jamie and Bobby Deen are leading the charge on Beringer's holiday campaign for the second year in a row and will provide Beringer enthusiasts with exclusive holiday recipes to complement Beringer wines. The custom recipes, along with additional ideas on how to bring the Million Meals campaign into any hometown, are available on Beringer's Million Meals website. The website also features information on the preferred fundraising partners nationwide, which are regionally based and offer an opportunity for shoppers to give back to their local communities.
"We're excited to build on last year's successful campaign, which helped provide one million meals to hungry families across America, and make this year an even bigger achievement," said Jamie Deen. "Bobby and I can't think of a better way to celebrate the holiday season than sharing a meal with our family, and we hope to bring some of the comfort we experience to other folks around the country. The kitchen has blessed our family with many wonderful gifts, and the Million Meals campaign allows us to focus on the things that really matter during the holidays – giving back while enjoying family and friends."
There are several easy ways for shoppers to contribute to Million Meals this season, with one dollar donated to charity for each of the following activities:
- Purchasing a bottle of Beringer Founders' Estate wine, found in stores nationwide
- Signing up on the Beringer Million Meals website
- "Liking" the Beringer Vineyards Facebook page
Those looking to join Jamie and Bobby this holiday season and bring the Million Meals campaign home will find easy tips on the Million Meals website. With recipes, templates and a dinner party kit, the website makes it easy to learn how to host a fundraising dinner and quickly pinpoint local charities that will benefit from the Million Meals campaign. In coming months Beringer is launching a Facebook application that will allow consumers to contribute even more meals by completing challenges online and when visiting Beringer's historic estate in the Napa Valley.
"We at Beringer are proud of the holiday cheer the Million Meals campaign brought to families last year, and are excited to again offer a simple, festive way for people to contribute to their communities," said Nicole Carter, Vice President of Public Relations for Beringer. "There is no better time to create meaningful experiences than during the holidays, and Founders' Estate wines offer the quality of Beringer at an everyday price that makes it easy for anyone to join in our nationwide effort to give back this season."
