PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Following its successful opening of a new office in Minneapolis, Minnesota earlier this year, the national class action law firm of Berger & Montague today announces the hiring of five extraordinary new attorneys in its Philadelphia office. The new hires include Christina Black, Jonathan DeSantis, James Goodley, Mark Suter, and Michaela Wallin. Berger & Montague strives to hire talented, passionate, and intelligent lawyers and prides itself on its team approach to serving clients and litigating complex cases. All five new attorneys embody these qualities, come from diverse backgrounds, and have a demonstrated record of achievement.

Christina Black is a 2014 graduate of Stanford Law School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Chicago. Following her law school graduation, Christina completed a legal fellowship at the National Center for Lesbian Rights, where she supported nationwide impact litigation related to LGBT rights. She also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Anne E. Thompson of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Jonathan DeSantis is a 2013 magna cum laude graduate of Stetson University College of Law and a 2010 graduate of Temple University. During law school, Jonathan interned with the Atlantic Center for Capital Representation, a non-profit providing support to attorneys representing capital defendants. Following law school, Jonathan served as a law clerk for the Honorable Susan C. Bucklew of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Jonathan then worked as a litigation associate at a large commercial defense firm.

James Goodley is a 2011 graduate of Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, obtained an LL.M. in trial advocacy from Temple University, Beasley School of Law, and is a 2005 graduate of Lehigh University. Following law school, James worked at the United States Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration, focusing on ERISA issues, and then worked as a litigator at a well-known ERISA law firm.

Mark Suter is a 2016 magna cum laude graduate from Rutgers Law School and a 2010 graduate of McGill University. While in law school, Mark served as senior editor of the Rutgers University Law Review, worked as a summer associate at Berger & Montague, and was a judicial intern for the Honorable C. Darnell Jones, II of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Michaela Wallin is a 2013 graduate of Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and a 2008 magna cum laude graduate of Bowdoin College, where she was a Phi Beta Kappa and a Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholar. Following her law school graduation, Michaela served as a law clerk for the Honorable James L. Cott of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She also spent the previous two years as an Equal Justice Works Fellow at the ACLU Women's Rights Project, where she worked to challenge local laws that target domestic violence survivors for eviction and impede tenants' ability to call the police.
