Benton County farmland to sell in June 11 auction
OXFORD, Ind., May 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- A 458-acre Benton County farm just south of Oxford will sell at auction Tuesday, June 11, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company managing the sale in cooperation with Agricultural Investment Associates Inc.
The property, which will sell in 11 tracts, includes approximately 383 acres of productive tillable farmland, as well as a 64,000-bushel grain facility. It is located a mile south of Oxford and has frontage on SR 55.
"This farm has been well managed using sound conservation practices, and that has resulted in strong yields in recent years," said Gene Klingaman, executive vice president of the auction company. "Most of the tillable land is located on five tracts, which range in size from 60 to 90 acres. We also have approximately 68 acres of fenced pasture on five tracts ranging from 7.5 acres to 20 acres.
"There are really some nice sites for someone who might wish to build a home surrounded by some grazing land and recreational property. People will be able to bid on any combination of tracts based on their needs. The pasture is accented by mature hardwoods and a lovely pond. Taken as a whole, this farm offers a remarkable quality of life with its productive tillable land, scenery, pasture and recreational elements," said Klingaman.
The grain facility is located on a single 7.5-acre tract. The auction will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at the Beck Agriculture Center, located on the Purdue Agronomy Farm, 4540 U.S. 521 West, West Lafayette, Ind.
