AVENTURA, Fla., Sept 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Benihana Inc., the nation's leading operator of Japanese-inspired teppanyaki and sushi restaurants, will donate ten percent of our Texas, Florida, and Atlanta-area Benihana and RA Sushi Restaurant revenues from Saturday, Sept. 23 through Monday, Sept. 25. These proceeds will benefit Volunteer Florida and Volunteer Houston.
"In the wake of the pain and devastation caused by Hurricanes Irma and Harvey, we want to help people rebuild as quickly as possible," said Benihana Chief Executive Officer and President, Tom Baldwin. "We have strong and deep roots in both areas. Our employees, active members of their greater communities in Florida and Texas, were also personally affected. We strive to enhance and engage with our community."
Volunteer Florida and Volunteer Houston are dedicated to mobilizing and deploying resources assisting those responding to and recovering from the hurricanes. "We chose these organizations because they have been critical in helping staff shelters and facilitating clean-up efforts," said Baldwin.
A total of 10 Benihana, one Samurai, and two RA Sushi restaurants in Florida, 13 locations in Texas, and four Atlanta locations will be participating in the effort.
