Beneficiaries Support Military Families by Going Paperless
TriWest Launches 'Go Green and Give' Program
PHOENIX, Dec. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- TRICARE West Region beneficiaries can make managing their health care easier and support military families at the same time—just by choosing paperless options as part of TriWest Healthcare Alliance's "Go Green and Give" campaign.
Beginning today, when TRICARE beneficiaries "Go Green" with TriWest and opt in to receive secure, electronic healthcare statements via email or text, TriWest will donate $5 to one of four military support organizations of their choice. The inaugural "Go Green and Give" campaign helped net military charities $85,000 in contributions from TriWest.
"It has long been TriWest's mission to provide quality health care, while at the same time boosting morale and well-being for military families," said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. "As part of our 'Mission to Serve' military families, we constantly look at innovative ways to improve customer service, including connecting our beneficiaries with a convenient and secure way of managing their healthcare needs online or from their mobile phones."
Supporting Military Organizations, Families
Beneficiaries who go paperless with TriWest will support these four military charities, which help active duty Service members, veterans, retirees and their families in a number of ways:
- Armed Services YMCA—Funds will assist Junior Enlisted Air Force families across the West Region by providing access to youth development and education, family strengthening, and health and well-being programs
- Coast Guard Foundation—Dedicated to enhancing the lives of the brave men and women of the Coast Guard, who enforce maritime law, protect our homeland and preserve the environment, through providing education, support and relief for Coast Guard families
- Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society—Provides financial, educational and other assistance to active duty, retired and reserve members of the Navy and Marine Corps, as well as their family members and survivors when in need
- Army Homefront Fund—Helps wounded soldiers return to duty or transition successfully back to civilian life by providing emergency assistance with rent/mortgage, utilities, home repair, food, child care and critical baby items, vehicle repair, moving assistance and health care
