Bell first worldwide to launch fully integrated Samsung KNOX security for business customers
MONTREAL, Oct. 10, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell and Samsung Electronics Canada today announced the first global availability of Samsung KNOX. Samsung KNOX is a comprehensive security solution that ensures enterprise customers (financial institutions, law firms, government agencies and businesses) have a high level of security and protection when employees use their own mobile devices at work or use their work devices as part of their everyday life. Bell is the only Canadian mobile carrier to offer a fully integrated Samsung KNOX solution for business customers.
"Bell is proud to be the first carrier in the world to offer Samsung KNOX to Canadian business and government customers. It's a state of the art solution for balancing IT, security and other corporate requirements with employee satisfaction," said Wade Oosterman, President of Bell Mobility. "More companies are implementing 'Bring Your Own Device' strategies, and Samsung KNOX solves the challenges of managing governance, compliance and security of mobile devices while ensuring the privacy of employee as well as company data."
"We are excited to partner with Bell who will provide a seamless user experience for customers who wish to deploy the KNOX solution with popular Galaxy devices in their businesses, starting with the Galaxy Note 3," said Paul Brannen, Vice President, Enterprise Business Solutions at Samsung Canada. "Security and privacy are understandably held up as barriers to businesses embracing BYOD demands. The KNOX solution offers state of the art security and allows employees to combine their business and personal needs in a single device, without compromising the security that IT departments demand."
Samsung KNOX is an end-to-end solution that provides enhanced security from the hardware through to the application layer featuring Security Enhancements for Android, Trusted Secure Boot, and TrustZone-based Kernel Integrity Measurement. KNOX also separates business and personal data, allowing enterprises to manage corporate data independently from personal user information.
Additional features include:
- A suite of enterprise applications including email, file sharing, CRM, browser, contacts and collaboration.
- Compatibility with existing common enterprise infrastructure such as MDM (Mobile Device Management), VPN and directory services.
- Automatic integration of existing Android ecosystem applications including FIPS compliant VPN, Enterprise Single Sign On (SSO), Active Directory and on-device encryption.
Samsung KNOX is available today for the new Samsung GALAXY Note 3 through Bell, the only Canadian mobile carrier to offer a fully integrated Samsung KNOX solution for business customers. Support for the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available soon with additional Samsung devices to follow.
