Born in Limerick, Ireland, Benjamin Franklin and his younger brother are survivors of the notorious Industrial Schools run by The Christian Brothers. Throughout most of their stay, they were subjected to severe beatings, humiliation, hard labor, sexual abuse and near-starvation, until they were both released consecutively at the ages of 15 years.
