BRUSSELS, Feb. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AJC Transatlantic Institute Chair Harold Tanner and AJC Executive Director David Harris were honored by the Belgium government for their efforts to advance and strengthen the partnership between the U.S. and Europe.

The Commander of the Order of the Crown, one of the Belgium King's most prestigious medals, was presented to Tanner and Harris at the AJC Transatlantic Institute Tenth Anniversary Gala.
Didier Reynders, Belgium's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, praised Tanner for "strengthening connections between both shores." He praised Harris for "establishing Europe as a priority for AJC's global work."
Tanner served as AJC National President from 2001 to 2004. He also served as AJC TAI Chair for two terms, from 2004 to 2005 and from 2010 to 2014. Harris has been honored by ten countries, including Belgium, for his global work.
