DALLAS, Jan. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Behringer Harvard announced today that Mr. Mark V. Petersen has joined Behringer Harvard as Head of Distribution – Retail. His responsibilities include developing and directing retail distribution strategies for Behringer Harvard's existing and expanding product portfolio including sales of alternative and direct investments.

With more than 25 years of experience in marketing a wide range of securities offerings, Mr. Petersen is well-known and highly regarded in the independent broker-dealer community. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President of Market Development in the funds management group of CNL Financial Group (CNL). He helped launch CNL's business development company (BDC) product after being instrumental in the successful BDC launch at Franklin Square Capital Partners, where he served from 2008 to 2010 as Executive Vice President of Marketing.
During a 15-year tenure at CNL from 1990 to 2005, Mr. Petersen honed his distribution expertise in various senior management positions with responsibility for retail and institutional securities sales and the management of national accounts. Mr. Petersen also had prior tenures at Equus in Houston and VMS Realty in Chicago. He has an MBA in finance from Baylor University; a BA in business administration from the University of Texas at Arlington; and FINRA Series 7, 22, 24 and 63 registrations.
