In addition to his new role as CEO, Mr. Aisner will continue to serve as President of Behringer Harvard, a position he has held since March 2006. Mr. Robert M. Behringer, the firm's Founder and previous CEO, will continue to serve as Chairman of Behringer Harvard.
"I'm pleased that this operational change will enable me to focus more exclusively on providing strategic direction for the company. I know Bob shares my vision for the growth of Behringer Harvard, and I can confidently place the responsibility for day-to-day management of our expanding lines of business in his capable hands," said Mr. Behringer.
Mr. Mattox, who most recently held the position of Chief Administrative Officer, now will serve as the sole executive in charge of operations. This responsibility was previously shared between Mr. Aisner and Mr. Robert J. Chapman, who remains with Behringer Harvard as Executive Vice President with a focus on strategic initiatives.
"Bob and Jason have worked with me for years, making significant contributions to our success and helping me provide strong leadership for the company," said Mr. Behringer. "For that reason, I expect this management change to be essentially seamless for the partners and stakeholders of Behringer Harvard."
Mr. Aisner has more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience. His association with Behringer Harvard began in June 2002 as an independent director of Behringer Harvard REIT I, Inc. He joined Behringer Harvard in June 2003 and most recently served as President and co-COO. Mr. Aisner also has served as the CEO of several Behringer Harvard real estate investment programs since mid-2008. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Aisner owned and operated Regents Management, Inc., a multifamily development and property management group. He was a Vice President of HRW Resources, a real estate development and management company, from 1984 to 1994.
Mr. Mattox has served in various senior management positions since joining Behringer Harvard and its predecessor entities in 1996. In addition to his most recent position of Chief Administrative Officer, he has served as an executive officer and principal of Behringer Harvard since its inception and holds similar positions with other Behringer Harvard real estate investment programs. From 1997 to 2002, he was Vice President of Harvard Property Trust, Inc., a suburban office REIT focused on select markets in the central United States.
