Beech-Nut Nutrition Company Issues Voluntary Recall Of Beech-Nut Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato & Chicken
AMSTERDAM, N.Y., April 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Beech-Nut today has issued a voluntary recall of its Beech-Nut Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato & Chicken in 4oz glass jars.
The affected product expires in "DEC 2016" and includes product numbers "12395750815" through "12395750821" on the cap. The recalled product bears the establishment number "P-68A" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The batch was produced in a single day during a six-minute timeframe.
The recall follows a single report of a small glass piece found in a jar of the product.
Consumers who may have purchased this recalled Beech-Nut item should return it to the store where purchased for an exchange or full refund. Or, consumers can contact Beech-Nut Consumer Relations at (866) 674-4446 with questions and for a full refund.
"We have no indication that any other jar of our Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato & Chicken is affected, but as a company of parents and families we are acting with an abundance of caution," said Jeff Boutelle, president of Beech-Nut. "The quality and safety of our products is our number one priority. We know that our high quality expectations were not met in this situation, and we apologize to our loyal consumers."
No other production dates, jars or varieties of Beech-Nut products are affected by this recall.
