RESTON, Va., May 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bechtel has recognized 27 companies for outstanding work on government projects with its annual Subcontractor and Supplier Recognition Awards. The awards honor the subcontractors and suppliers that supported Bechtel's Nuclear, Security & Environmental global business unit in nuclear power, environmental clean-up, defense, facility start-up, and nuclear security and operations during 2014.
The recipients of the top awards are:
- Large Business Supplier of the Year – Ellis & Watts Global Industries Inc., for work at the Blue Grass Chemical-Agent Destruction Pilot Plant, Richmond, Kentucky
- Small Business Supplier of the Year – IONEX Research Corporation, for work at the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant, Richland, Washington
- Large Business Subcontractor of the Year – Lasertel Inc, for work supporting Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, California
- Small Business Subcontractor of the Year – Hawthorne Machinery Company, for work supporting Kwajalein Range Services, Kwajalein Atoll, the Republic of the Marshall Islands

Companies were evaluated on multiple factors. They include: overall performance; the ability to deliver quality services/supplies on time; the ability to work collaboratively to meet milestones; and meeting or exceeding project expectations in aspects of safety, construction performance, technical expertise, and environmental compliance. Nominations were reviewed and approved by Bechtel procurement managers and project managers. Final recommendations were approved by senior leadership.
