Online e-tailer continues to support AWE in their efforts to assist business owners and Asian American entrepreneurs
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Beauty Encounter (www.BeautyEncounter.com), the e-tailer featuring all things beauty and specializing in hard-to-find niche products, continues to support non-profit organization, Asian Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) another year.
AWE members met on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Double Tree Hotel in Orange, CA for their Sixth Annual Luncheon. At the gathering, AWE offered five one thousand dollars ($1,000) to five students who are matriculating at the School of Business/Management toward earning their BA degree. The scholarships were awarded based upon the applicants' commitment to continue providing such service and/or leadership. The 2010 scholarship recipients included Lobna Botros, Melissa Marie Caringal, Alexandira Crownover, Kevin Dang Ho and Anna Magga. The Scholarship Committee encourages students of all races to apply, providing equal opportunities to all applicants.
Beauty Encounter was one of many scholarship donors. Other sponsors included Comerica Bank, JMV Marketing, PLDT USA, The Jane Group and other generous individuals.
"I hope that the scholarships will help make these students' dreams and aspirations possible," says Jacquelyn Tran, Advisory Board member of AWE and CEO/President of Beauty Encounter. "They are very deserving and I wish them the best in their future business endeavors."
"AWE's annual scholarship event brings a lot of inspiration to young, promising college students. It is also enlightening to witness a lot of magnanimous entrepreneurs who are committed in giving back to the community," says Josie de la Cruz, founder of AWE.
