NORFOLK, Va., June 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Beacon Health Options, the nation's premier behavioral health management company, is pleased to announce it will host its third annual Stamp Out Stigma Golf Outing on Tuesday, July 21, at noon, at the Bayville Golf Club in Virginia Beach. Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. Proceeds from the tournament will go to the National Military Family Association (NMFA), which provides support and guidance for military members and their families.
"So much is asked of our military families, and time and again, they respond with selflessness and grace through all sorts of unique challenges," said Kerry Mooney, President, ValueOptions Federal Services, Inc., a Beacon Health Options company. "We are so proud to support NMFA and their respected advocacy on issues impacting military families as well as the direct vital programs and services they provide to these families."
Proceeds from the outing will help NMFA strengthen its work on behalf of military families, provide military spouse scholarships, and host Operation Purple ® camp and retreat programs.
"We're proud to partner with Beacon Health Options in highlighting the importance of connecting military families with the resources they need," said Joyce Raezer, NMFA Executive Director. "Nowhere is this effort more vital than in improving awareness of the value of mental health services and in ensuring military families know they can seek help without fear. We are honored to be aligned with the Stamp Out Stigma cause."
This year's lead sponsors of the sold-out golf outing are: WellPoint Military Care at the Courage level; UBS at the Resiliency level; and AEGIS.net, Inc. at the Support level.

About Stamp Out Stigma
Launched in 2013 by Beacon Health Options, the Stamp Out Stigma initiative is now spearheaded by the Association for Behavioral Health and Wellness, in which Beacon Health Options is a member. The initiative aims to promote the eradication of stigma surrounding mental illness and substance use disorder, as stigma acts as a barrier to people seeking the mental health and substance use disorder care they need to recover. The campaign challenges people to recognize the high prevalence of mental illness and substance use disorder in order to transform the dialogue about both, from a whisper behind closed doors to a conversation.
