Beacon Health Options Earns ISO Certification for Information Security Management
Certification demonstrates the company has achieved the most demanding IT security standards for support of its business processes
BOSTON, July 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Beacon Health Options (Beacon), the nation's leading behavioral health management company, announced today the company has earned the prestigious ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for Information Security Management System. The certification is the most widely recognized set of standards for information security.
The accredited certifying body, TÜV NORD, awarded Beacon the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification after the company passed a rigorous audit of information technology (IT) support services for its business processes. ISO is an independent, non-governmental group that applies common standards for 163 countries. Atlas Systems, Inc. helped the company prepare for the successful certification process.

The 27000 series refers to the ISO family of standards dealing with information security. ISO/IEC 27001:2013 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system within the organization. It also includes requirements for the assessment and treatment of information security risks.
