Analyst Update: QuarterlyFinancial Results, Launches, Upcoming Annual Meetings, and Ratings Upgrade

The U.S. stocks finished higher on Thursday as a late afternoon rally in crude oil prices helped energy shares erase their decline, while better-than-expected earnings reports boosted consumer stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.31% to close at 17,416.85, the S&P 500 advanced 0.95% to close at 2,021.25, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.98% to end at 4,683.41. In Europe, markets ended lower as investors fretted over the worsening health of Euro zone economy after some heavyweight energy firms reported weaker-than-expected profits. The U.S. central bank's statement on Wednesday, indicating U.S. rate increases were still likely this year, also weighed upon investor sentiments. Meanwhile, Greek stocks markets steadied on Thursday, following a huge post-election sell-off, helped by rally in the bank stocks. Asian stocks also ended lower on Thursday after Federal Reserve's statement and slump in the oil prices.
The Toro Company (Toro) reported record Q4 FY 2014 financial results with both earnings and sales beating the Street expectations. The Company's net earnings for the quarter ended October 31, 2014 increased to $10.9 million or $0.19 per diluted share, from $4.9 million or $0.08 per diluted share in the same period previous year. On average, analysts polled by Thomson-Reuters estimated earnings of $0.15 per share on sales of $409.9 million for the quarter.
Tower International, Inc. (Tower International) reported strong top and bottom line growth in Q3 2014. Diluted adjusted earnings were up 52% YoY to $0.73 per share, while revenues increased 6% YoY to $523 million.
Toyota Motor Corp Ltd (Toyota) has launched the New 'Alphard' and 'Vellfire' Minivans through dealers across Japan. The Company claims that the new redesigned Alphard and Vellfire possess unshakeable presence with a comfortable ride, exceptional handling stability, and a roomy interior.
Transdigm Group Incorporated (Transdigm) filed a proxy statement on January 22, 2015, notifying that its Annual Meeting of Stockholders will be held at 1301 East Ninth Street, 4 Floor, Cleveland, Ohio 44114, on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 9:00 a.m., local time. Transdigm also noted that stockholders of record at the close of business on January 5, 2015 will be entitled to vote at the meeting.
Tredegar Corporation (Tredegar) has been upgraded by TheStreet Ratings from 'Hold' to 'Buy' with a ratings score of B-. The upgrade, which was released on the first trading day of 2015 (January 2), is driven by several positive factors, said the Ratings firm.
