BCTCares Foundation's Pack the 'Pack Program Breaks Record, Raises $120,000 for Local Backpack Charities to Feed Local Food-Insecure Children

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va., Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The BCTCares Foundation, a nonprofit founded and operated by employees of Potomac Bank (OTCID: PTBS), recently announced that its annual Pack the 'Pack campaign broke its yearly fundraising record by raising $120,000 for local charities who help feed food-insecure children and their families. This year's campaign surpassed the previous record of $104,000, set last year. 

The Pack the 'Pack program's mission is to partner with four local nonprofits each of whom are locally established in the markets Potomac Bank serves.   Those partners focus on providing nourishing food to food-insecure children, individuals, and families.  This year's donation for each of the partner nonprofits is $30,000, providing crucial funding for the purchase of food, which equates to over 11,000 backpacks being filled with enough food for two days (weekend) per child.  The fundraising effort occurs each year from July 1 through August 31.  Contributions were solicited and received from the bank's clients, vendors, employees, and Board of Directors, along with citizens from the communities surrounding Potomac Bank's branches and offices in Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.  

Since its inception in 2019, the BCTCares Foundation has donated $601,000 to fight local food-insecurity, especially in children.
