DALLAS, Feb. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- BBVA Compass announced today that it is bringing its Silicon Valley-inspired open workspaces and technologies to its Dallas corporate offices to help fuel innovation and collaboration.
The planned renovations to the Cornerstone and Douglas corporate offices, to begin in February, are part of the bank's ongoing efforts to cultivate a unified and cohesive team. The workspaces will be modeled after those at BBVA Compass Plaza in Houston, and the bank's Talent & Culture and Brock Development Center offices in Birmingham, Ala.
"Open workspaces fuel collaboration and unity," said BBVA Compass Chief Operating Officer Rafael Bustillo. "We're removing the barriers that keep people from interacting on a regular basis, bringing them together to maximize energy and communication."
BBVA Compass' Dallas corporate offices boast more than 600 employees from the bank's Consumer & Commercial Banking and Risk areas, among others. The bank will move out of its Promenade and Preston Campbell corporate offices following the remodeling, and teams currently working in those buildings will transition to either Cornerstone or Douglas.
The offices will feature Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies, shared public spaces, collaboration areas and private meeting rooms ― investments made in pursuit of creativity and innovation, said BBVA Compass Chief Talent & Culture Executive Rosilyn Houston.
"Our aspirations to deliver a world-class client experience and become a leading digital bank require a free flow of ideas and interaction," Houston said. "These lofty objectives are best achieved by breaking down walls ― literally and figuratively."
Houston said BBVA Compass teammates will be able to retreat to quiet areas — a conference room, or smaller huddle room — when needed.
"We want to increase productivity and personal inspiration," Houston said. "Mostly that involves teams working together but sometimes it requires time alone with our thoughts."
Dallas team members are expected to move into their new spaces over the course of the first and second quarters.
