BBVA Compass hires veteran banker to lead its new Columbus loan production office
- Steve Bennett to serve as market president in Ohio
- New office one of several set to open across the U.S.
HOUSTON, April 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- BBVA Compass hired veteran banker Steve Bennett to serve as the market president for the bank's new loan production office in Columbus, Ohio.
The Columbus location is one of several loan production offices BBVA Compass received approval to open to help expand the bank commercial loan offerings beyond its Sunbelt footprint. BBVA Compass now has approval to open loan production offices across the United States in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Nashville, Tenn., and the North Carolina cities of Charlotte and Raleigh.

Bennett most recently served as director of governmental banking for Huntington Bank in Columbus. He began his banking career in 1995 and has worked in commercial banking in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.
Bennett received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Indiana University in 1991 and is an active volunteer in the Columbus community, serving as a member of the National and Central Ohio Association for Financial Professionals, Ohio Government Finance Officers Association and the Hannah Neil Center for Kids.
