BBVA Compass Expands Tempe and Birmingham Mortgage Operations Centers

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., May 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- To support the rapid growth of its mortgage business, BBVA Compass announced today it is expanding its mortgage operations centers in Tempe, Ariz., and Birmingham, Ala., and plans to hire 60 employees, including mortgage processors, underwriters, closers and other support staff.

"The Tempe location opened just five months ago, but it's already key to our mortgage processing operations, as is Birmingham," said Jon Mulkin, BBVA Compass consumer segment director. "They allow us to serve customers in multiple time zones across our Sunbelt footprint. Plus, both cities are rich sources of recruits."

In addition to the Birmingham and Tempe locations, BBVA Compass operates a third mortgage operations center in Laredo, Texas. When all three are fully staffed, the bank will employ approximately 430 professionals dedicated to the mortgage process, including 270 in Birmingham, 140 in Tempe and 20 in Laredo.
