BBVA Compass Announces Matching Contribution to Assist With Haiti Earthquake Relief and Recovery
BBVA Compass branches will accept donations on behalf of the American Red Cross
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- BBVA Compass announced today that its Foundation has pledged a donation of up to $100,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to assist in the recovery efforts of those impacted by the recent earthquake in Haiti. BBVA Compass will match employee, customer and non-customer contributions to the relief effort dollar for dollar up to a maximum of $100,000.

We believe that working with the American Red Cross is the best way to provide immediate relief assistance to the people in need following such a catastrophic event."
Donations to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund may be made in any of the more than 740 BBVA Compass banking centers. Customers and non-customers may make a check or money order payable for the amount they wish to donate to the American Red Cross. BBVA Compass will be accepting donations through January 30.
In addition to the matching contribution from BBVA Compass, business units throughout the global BBVA Group have been quick to express their dedication to supporting Haitian relief efforts. The BBVA Group has already committed more than $1.4 million that will be channeled through the International Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders organizations – which will be directed towards humanitarian aid projects and rebuilding schools. In addition, other BBVA business units around the world are accepting donations and contributing to the relief efforts in various ways.
