This year's Big Won rankings were compiled from some 6,000 awards won by 4,048 campaigns on behalf of nearly 2,500 clients by 1,300 agencies.
Patrick Collister, the author of The Directory Big Won, noted, "The value of creative awards is in indicating which campaigns have, in all likelihood, given their clients real return on investment. And the value of the Directory Big Won rankings is in identifying which agencies are most likely to generate remarkable commercial results for their clients."
He added, "To say that BBDO 'gets it' would be an understatement. BBDO agencies are consistent, relying on work across a spread of clients and platforms, rather than on one or two runaway successes. The agency is clearly delivering the best work for its clients above the line, below the line, offline and online."
BBDO dominated this year's Big Won agency rankings with five of the world's Top Ten agencies, including the top two: BBDO New York (#1) and AlmapBBDO in Brazil (#2). Other Top Ten BBDO agencies were ColensoBBDO, Auckland (#5), AMVBBDO London (#6) and ClemengerBBDO Melbourne (#10). BBDO agencies were also ranked #1 in eight countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, US and UK.
In addition:
-ColensoBBDO, Auckland was the top agency in the world in Direct
-BBDO New York was ranked the number one agency in the world for TV/Film/Video
-AlmapBBDO in Brazil was the number one individual agency in the world for Print
-AMVBBDO London created the top TV campaign in the world: "Who Killed Deon?" for the Metropolitan Police
And BBDO dominated the talent rankings, with two of the top five Chief Creative Officers in the world (#1- David Lubars of BBDO North America; #5- Marcello Serpa of AlmapBBDO in Brazil), and the top four Executive Creative Directors: #1 Nick Worthington (ColensoBBDO), #2 Paul Brazier (AMVBBDO), #3 Greg Hahn (BBDO NY) and #4 Ant Keogh (ClemengerBBDO Melbourne).
