Bayonne Visiting Nurse Association Selects Cardiocom® Telehealth
MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Bayonne Visiting Nurse Association, a HomeCare Elite Award Recipient since 2006, announced that it has entered into a business relationship with Cardiocom to provide advanced home telehealth technology to patients with chronic conditions using Cardiocom's new Commander FLEX™ device. Cardiocom®, Experts in Telehealth(SM), is a world class developer, manufacturer and clinical service provider of award-winning telehealth solutions.
Cardiocom's Telehealth System provides an interactive opportunity to proactively manage patient care. Every day, Bayonne VNA patients use the Cardiocom Telehealth System to communicate with a Bayonne VNA telehealth nurse. The Commander FLEX guides the patient through an interactive health check and collection of vital signs including: weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and heart rate. This information is immediately transmitted via a standard phone or a cellular signal.
"We made a decision to choose Cardiocom over other telehealth vendors after an extensive selection process because of their expertise and the commitment to program success," says Dr. Maureen Sullivan Foley, President/Chief Executive Officer. "BVNA wanted to choose a vendor who integrated with our electronic medical record system – Homecare HomeBase," indicated Dr. Foley. Additionally, Dr. Foley indicated, "the BVNA Telehealth Program is a true integration of cutting-edge technology with BVNA highly specialized and patient-individualized Nursing Care Interventions. The BVNA Telehealth Program works because of local physician and hospital support that integrates BVNA physician and patient treatment protocols. These protocols have taken greater than 10 years to develop and augment the Telehealth Program as demonstrated by the BVNA successful Home Care Compare Outcomes."
