BayCare Hires New Chief Quality Officer

Role Includes Championing Patient Safety, Clinical Quality

CLEARWATER, Fla., Nov. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Teri Sholder is the new Senior Vice President, Chief Quality Officer for BayCare Health System.

She came to BayCare from Kettering Health Network in Ohio, where she was named a manager in the Quality Department in 2007, was promoted to department director in 2010, and was Chief Quality Officer since 2012.

Sholder set the strategic vision and goals for quality and care delivery for Kettering Physician Partners and Kettering Health Network, a system with eight hospitals, 10 emergency departments and 120 outpatient facilities. The health system was named to Truven Health Analytics' list of 15 Top Health Systems in the United States and achieved national top-decile performance for the last four consecutive years.

As Chief Quality Officer for BayCare, Sholder will lead programs to enhance patient safety, clinical quality and patient satisfaction, with the goal of ensuring high-quality care for patients throughout the health care system.

Sholder's background is in critical care nursing, nursing supervision and emergency department management. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Wright State University in Ohio and her master's degree in health administration from Ohio University.
