"It's only fitting that registration for the 2014 Bay to Breakers Race begins on the spirited holiday of Halloween, and we hope that our one-day-only Halloween discount will get registration for our next race off to a roaring start," said Casey Wasserman, Chairman and CEO of Wasserman Media Group. "Our goal is to preserve the great traditions of Bay to Breakers, while increasing participation so that more and more people can experience this great event every year."
"We are also proud to be giving back to the community in a meaningful way by supporting the fight against poverty in the Bay Area through our partnership with Tipping Point Community," Wasserman continued.
"We're so pleased that Bay to Breakers is kicking off in a way that will be great for the city of San Francisco and all the people from the Bay Area who love the race. We look forward to another great year," said San Francisco City Mayor Edwin M. Lee.
"We are humbled and honored to be the philanthropic recipient of San Francisco's most iconic race," said Tipping Point Community Founder and CEO Daniel Lurie. "Wasserman is taking the race to a new level by pledging ten percent of all ticket sales to Tipping Point. We are grateful for their commitment to make poverty preventable in the San Francisco Bay Area."
