The highly anticipated event at BallenIsles Country Club on Saturday, October 13 which attracted local television news crews and golf writers for area newspapers, featured Ryder Cup standout, PGA Tour Pro and holder of the No. 4 spot in the U.S, Keegan Bradley, leading a team of Junior Golfers against a similar team led by LPGA Tour Pro, Paige Mackenzie, whose great tweets about her life on Tour have placed her among Sports Illustrated's Top 100.
The Juniors teaming with the Cleveland Golf Touring Pros were all winners of the 2012 BallenIsles Junior Cup.
The event began with a Golf Exhibition at the driving range followed by the 2 Foursomes competing for the Battle at BallenIsles trophy in a "Best Ball" competition. Team Keegan prevailed over Team Paige with a 6 under par vs. a 3 under par win to capture the 2012 Battle at BallenIsles trophy.
"We're very grateful to Cleveland Golf and to Keegan and Paige for their outstanding sportsmanship and stewardship in helping give these young players an up-close and personal perspective of PGA Tour Pros in competition. We've received such positive feedback stemming from this landmark event and this is definitely another feather in the BallenIsles golf cap," said Brian Kelley, BallenIsles Country Club's Director of Golf.
Earlier this year, Troon Golf, the world's largest golf management company, applauded the 2012 BallenIsles Junior Cup which saw 36 young rising stars of golf compete in a Ryder Cup format tournament on the Club's historic championship East Course.
Highly regarded for its 3 championship golf courses, where many golf legends originally qualified for the PGA Tour, BallenIsles is also home to a $26 million state-of-the-art Sports Complex that is testimony to the Club's extraordinary commitment to a healthy member lifestyle. Out of nearly 200 Clubs managed worldwide by Troon Golf, BallenIsles has been awarded "Facility of the Year." For more information visit www.BallenIsles.org.
