SAN JOSE, Calif., June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Batteroo Inc. today announced the members of its Advisory Board, who have combined for more than 100 years of shared experience in the electrical engineering, electric system design, green technologies, product development and retail sectors. They include company co-founders and serial entrepreneurs Bob and Frankie Roohparvar, Warren Flick and David Martin.
Batteroo's board is comprised of executives with deep industry experience who are spearheading not only the launch of the company but also the introduction of Batteriser, a reusable sleeve that slips over batteries to instantly tap into the remaining energy that is usually thrown away. In revolutionizing the $14 billion disposable battery market, Batteriser harnesses the up to 80 percent untapped battery energy that remains before an electronic device regards it as powerless, saving consumers money while sparing landfills from unnecessary toxic battery waste.
Frankie Roohparvar, inventor of the Batteriser technology, serves as Batteroo's Chairman of the Board. With more than 500 U.S. patents and over 30 years of experience designing complex electrical systems, Frankie Roohparvar specializes in miniaturizing electrical systems to lengths previously thought impossible. He served as the CEO of Skyera, a leader in enterprise solid state storage systems based on NAND technology, whose storage boxes are more than 95 percent smaller in footprint than competitive products. Skyera was recently acquired by Western Digital. Prior to Skyera, Frankie Roohparvar served as VP and general manager of NAND solutions at Micron Technology after his previous start-up was acquired by Micron.
Board member and company CEO, Dr. Bob Roohparvar has more than 30 years of power management industry experience. Prior to Batteroo, Bob Roohparvar served as CEO and President of Flexpower and Vista Point Technologies, a subsidiary of Flextronics, with multibillion dollars in annual revenue. He and his team re-designed the original iPhone charger, creating the smallest charger in the world by reducing its size by over 50 percent. Prior to Flexpower, Bob Roohparvar was Vice President and General Manager at Broadcom, in charge of the company's Power Management Business Unit.
Flick brings more than 35 years of executive retail and product development experience to Batteroo. He has served as CEO of Neato Robotics, was President of Kmart, and Managing Director of Coles Myer. For the past 15 years, Flick has advised worldwide consumer brands and international retailers on strategic positioning and growth. In addition to his role on the Batteroo Board, Flick is the company's Chief Strategy Officer.
Martin has extensive Information Technology (IT) Industry experience as a Senior Executive including CEO of five companies and as a Strategic Advisor to 16 IT CEOs. He was EVP of IT Systems and Board Member at National Semiconductor during the period when the company grew from $99M to $2.7B in revenue. He was CEO of HDS (NAS) building it from 0 to $1.2B in revenue. As a Strategic Advisor to CEOs he worked with many IT companies. He has been a Board Member and/or Observer at 15 companies.
"History is littered with many start-up companies that begin with an innovative product but stumble in bringing that innovation to life," said Frankie Roohparvar. "In assembling the Advisory Board for Batteroo, we made sure to enlist a varied team of entrepreneurs who have proven track records of successfully launching revolutionary products into the marketplace. The intelligence behind Batteriser's voltage management and delivery mechanism is real and proven and we look forward to capitalizing on the tremendous momentum of the solution's recent launch to bring savings and performance gains to consumers everywhere."
Batteriser, currently the only device of its kind, has been tested and proven compatible on a variety of battery-operated home and office gadgets, including wireless keyboards, noise cancelling headphones, Xbox and Wii controllers, TV remote controls, walkie-talkies, digital scales, electric toothbrushes, toys, portable radios, flashlights, and blood pressure monitors. Batteroo will soon launch an Indiegogo campaign allowing customers to be the first to purchase this innovative new product before it hits the retail market and is sold through Amazon. Batteriser will be available for AA, AAA, C, and D-cell batteries. Retail prices will start at under $10.00 for a four pack of Batteriser sleeves. For more information visit www.batteriser.com.
