CANTON, Mass., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Baskin-Robbins, the world's largest ice cream specialty chain with more than 6,000 locations in 33 countries, has named seasoned restaurant executive Bill Mitchell to the newly created position of Vice President, Baskin-Robbins U.S. He will report directly to Nigel Travis, CEO of Dunkin' Brands.

In his new role, Mitchell, who most recently served as President, Global Operations for Papa John's, will focus on supporting the domestic Baskin-Robbins franchisees and helping them drive best-in-class operations and guest service.

Mitchell spent ten years with Papa John's, one of the world's largest pizza chains, in a variety of roles, culminating in his position as President, Global Operations. In that position he was responsible for driving the revenues of more than 3,400 restaurants in 29 countries. Prior to Papa John's Mitchell was with AFC Enterprises (Popeye's) where he served in various capacities including Senior Director of Franchise Operations. Earlier in his career he was with the RTM Restaurant Group and PepsiCo, on the KFC management team. Before entering the restaurant industry, Mitchell served as a Captain of Field Artillery in the U.S. Army.
