Basketcase, Inc. Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Basket of Deplorables - the Board Game!
Raucously funny, politically savvy, and even educational, it's board game therapy for surviving the Trump presidency
SAN RAFAEL, Calif., March 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- California game-maker, David Pullman, of Basketcase, Inc. offers Basket of Deplorables - The Board Game, a game of politics with a healthy dose of humor for boosting post-election morale.
"I was depressed for days after the election; could barely get out of bed. But then, in a flash of brilliance it dawned on me that distressed liberals worldwide are gonna need a board game to get them through this, and I've been on fire with this project ever since." - Gamemaker, David Pullman
The game takes place in an absurd alternate reality where Donald Trump is President of the United States. To make matters even weirder, the candidates vying to take on Trump in 2020 are Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Elizabeth Warren. The object of the game is to unseat Trump in 2020, ending his reign of error after four years.
As the players work their way down the Campaign Trail, they'll be embroiled in scandals, seek endorsements, enter debates, consult pollsters, compete in primaries and caucuses, and most enjoyably, fill up their Basket of Deplorables. In this game, Deplorables are not run of the mill Trump supporters. Rather, they are some of the dubious characters who populate the inner circle of this far-fetched, parallel-universe President Trump (Steve Bannon, Mike Pence, Vladimir Putin, Rudy Giuliani, Betsy DeVos, Steve Mnuchin, Scott Pruitt, Jeff Sessions, Andrew Puzder, Tom Price, and Michael Flynn).
The game will entertain you, engage you, and test your knowledge of politics, but most importantly, this is board game therapy for surviving a Trump presidency.
Pullman is running a kickstarter campaign, amassing backers to crowdfund the first production run. The more pre-orders he gathers, the more units he can order, using the bulk savings to upgrade components of the game and add more features. The campaign will run from March 1st through April 4th.
10% of all profits on the game will go to organizations serving communities made vulnerable by the policy agenda of the Trump Administration and the Republican congress.
