BASF to Host Car Restoration Symposium and Show 1957 300 SL Mercedes Gullwing at 2012 Concours d'Elegance
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As collectors, restorers, auction buyers, media and auto executives gather at the 2012 Concours d'Elegance at The Inn at St. John's in Plymouth, Mich., July 28-29, BASF Automotive Refinish Solutions will host a Classic Car Restoration Symposium and display its Glasurit® paint system and its rare, Chip Foose-redesigned 1957 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing.

The BASF-hosted Classic Car Restoration Symposium will run in a constant rotation from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 28 in the Judea Room at the Inn at St. John's conference center, and will feature experts presenting an exclusive series of restoration seminars on finishes, metal fabrication, chrome re-plating and leather work.
The BASF 1957 Mercedes Gullwing – one of only 76 built in the Gullwing's last year of production and reinterpreted by automotive design legend Chip Foose – will also be on display in the Judea Room during the Symposium.
BASF's Glasurit paint showcase, featuring the Classic Car Color collection, and also featuring the Mercedes Gullwing, will be on display on Sunday, July 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
