BASF showcases innovative solutions at Intersolar North America, booth 5447
Portfolio includes Tinuvin® 1600, a high performance UV absorber for transparent outdoor thin section applications
FLORHAM PARK, N.J., July 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- BASF will showcase its portfolio of innovative solutions for the solar industry at Intersolar North America, July 10–12, 2012, at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, California.
In addition to products and solutions that allow efficient production and enhanced performance of photovoltaic modules and solar thermal products, BASF experts will be on hand to discuss the company's solutions for the entire value chain for solar cells, as well as new development opportunities.
BASF solutions for light stabilization for film manufacturing and framing and support components
Tinuvin® 1600 is a high performance ultraviolet (UV) light absorber for transparent outdoor thin section applications. The product's outstanding UV absorption capacity makes it ideal to enable biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate films to become a key component for photovoltaics (PV) and other solar power devices. With Tinuvin 1600, PET films are now a viable alternative for PV, getting the industry closer to grid parity by making solar energy more cost effective.
Tinuvin 1600 helps to extend the durability and life expectancy of products under intense exposure to UV light. Specifically, the high-performance and light-stable UV-filter is perfectly suited to long-term outdoor use for up to 25 years or more. Tinuvin 1600 belongs to the class of triazines and exhibits very low volatility, excellent thermal stability and good substrate compatibility in a variety of polymeric resins, which also makes it ideal for PMMA/PC films and laminations for solar power applications.
