WHO & WHY:
Albert Pujols has had one of the most storied and impressive careers that an active player can have in Major League Baseball. His accolades include being a nine-time All-Star, two-time World Series Champion, 3-time NL MVP, and NL Rookie of the Year among countless other achievements. But in the new short film premiering today, Pujols shares how there is more to him than his many baseball accomplishments.
This event will give viewers an in-depth look at the man behind the glove through childhood stories and on the field anecdotes. Pujols will share personal snapshots including meeting his wife Deidre and her daughter, Isabella, who lives with Down syndrome. Through his journey raising Isabella as his own, Pujols became a stronger man of faith. It was this that inspired him and his wife to found The Pujols Family Foundation, a non-profit that focuses on aiding families with Down syndrome children & impoverished people of Albert's native country of the Dominican Republic, in 2005.
