Barovick and Ibrahim Mardam-Bey have joined the firm as senior managing directors. Barovick will be based in New York, and Mardam-Bey will be based in Washington, D.C., both focusing on providing high-value independent business and financial strategies, developing bankable capital market offerings, and creating sustainable and implementable solutions for infrastructure and real estate projects for global enterprises, sovereign entities, financial institutions, governments, investors and family offices.

Barovick joins Ankura with over 40 years of experience providing strategic advice to domestic and international corporations and governments, as well as to developers and public and private investors. He has been a C-level executive at both public and private entities, creating successful global real estate advisory, transaction and services platforms, and has significant experience leading large-scale, complex infrastructure and real estate projects.
A few of Barovick's recent projects include development feasibility, a capital raise and public-private partnership structuring for a 750-acre mixed-use sports stadium, retail, residential and high-tech R&D development; a South Asian 2,000-acre "new smart city" conceptual master plan, market feasibility, public-private partnership formation and capital raise; and a capital raise and project management for an 8,000-acre mining operation.
Over the past 27 years, Mardam-Bey has successfully arranged and raised both equity and debt financing for multibillion-dollar projects and private equity funds with his vast experience as an international finance professional and a track record in structuring and placing capital structures that are attractive to investors. He has led several international investment banking and private equity boutiques and has an impressive portfolio of successfully completed transactions around the globe. His experience spans multiple industries and asset types including infrastructure, real estate, energy, oil and gas, and the full spectrum of capital sources including traditional debt instruments, securitizations, private equity and venture capital. He possesses a broad range of unique experience and a proven track record in the international finance, merchant investment banking and participating finance world.
As a published author in English, French and Arabic, he has written on international finance, entrepreneurship, and Islamic banking and has been featured in Euromoney, Banker Middle East, Sukuk Insider and many other publications. Mardam-Bey has received numerous business and professional recognitions and awards for his pioneering work on several international sukuk transactions.
