Barrels of Biofuel Flowing from Success at Louisiana Facility
GEISMER, La., March 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With barrels of biofuel flowing from the success of America's first commercial advanced biofuels plant, the Advanced Biofuels Association, ABFA, takes its online video series, Better Fuels Moment, on the road to get a closer look at its member company Dynamic Fuels and its facility in Louisiana where trucks are lining up to deliver its renewable diesel.
The new episode, online today at http://youtu.be/rseM5F-Fnc8, features ABFA President Michael McAdams getting a top down survey of the plant which produces nearly 5000 barrels of renewable diesel a day. The facility in Geismar, La., produces its renewable diesel from animal fats and greases as "drop in" fuel that can replace 100% of petroleum diesel in a diesel engine without engine modification.
Last December, Dynamic Fuels was awarded a contract to supply the U.S. Navy with approximately 425,000 gallons of renewable fuels making it the single largest purchase of advanced biofuel in history.
ABFA: The Advanced Biofuels Association (ABFA) is a national organization representing the new generation of advanced and renewable technologies that will help drive America's new economy by creating jobs, reducing our dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels while fueling a sustainable future for the world. The ABFA has quickly become a leading voice for America's domestic biofuels industry since it was established in 2009. Based in Washington, D.C., the ABFA engages the federal government at all levels to secure a level playing field for its 40 member companies by encouraging public policies that are consistent, technology neutral, utilize sustainable feedstocks and offer subsidy parity. http://www.advancedbiofuelsassociation.com/
