Barclaycard US Appoints Curt Hess as Interim CEO

WILMINGTON, Del., June 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Barclaycard US, the payments business of Barclays in the United States, has appointed Curt Hess as Interim CEO. Hess will report to Barclaycard Interim CEO Amer Sajed, providing leadership and direction to the U.S. team and representing the business on the Barclaycard Executive Committee.

Hess, a well-respected financial industry leader, has more than 25 years of experience in credit cards, finance, treasury, retail banking, consumer lending, risk and control.

"Curt brings a wealth of experience to our U.S. operations," said Amer Sajed, who stepped up as Barclaycard Interim CEO in May, having been CEO for Barclaycard US since 2010. Hess has been with Barclays for eight years, most recently holding the position of Chief Financial Officer for Personal and Corporate Banking in London. He has also served as CEO and CFO for Barclays Europe Retail and Business Banking, CFO for Barclays Africa Retail and Business Banking and CFO for Barclaycard. Prior to joining Barclays, Hess held executive+ positions in the U.S. at Citi and Bank of America.
